Acadia University invites applications for the position of Director Health Counselling and Accessible Learning. This leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of integrated student wellness services including the Counselling Centre Health Centre and Accessible Learning Services. With a strong commitment to trauma-informed anti-oppressive care the Director plays a key role in shaping student health and wellness initiatives across campus.
Reporting to the Executive Director Student Services the Director provides leadership in program development policy design clinical supervision budgeting and staff development. The successful candidate will be a collaborative and compassionate leader who understands the intersectional needs of post-secondary students.
The Director leads the integration and delivery of services that support student health wellness and accessibility. They coordinate data collection ensure compliance reporting and evaluate performance measures. They are responsible for developing and assessing policies programs and strategic initiatives that support student success and overall wellness. The Director also supervises trains and supports a multidisciplinary team and provides clinical supervision to interns. Representing Acadia at local and provincial working groups they play a central role in the advancement of Healthy Campus initiatives.
The Director also provides short-term personal counselling for students and coordinates referrals to appropriate campus or community resources. They are expected to engage in ongoing professional development remaining current with research and best practices in student health wellness accessible learning and inclusive care.
