PROJECT ANALYST JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you ready to create a brighter energy future as part of a passionate and purpose-driven organization The Energy Coalition (TEC) is scouting for a full-time Project Analyst to support our Business Operations team by providing analytical and reporting support to address the needs of our diverse set of clients and partners. TECs Business Operations teams are the heart of our organization; they maintain the systems and processes that enable our people and programs to thrive.

The Project Analyst will support the collection wrangling securing warehousing and reporting of data for a portfolio of energy programs implemented by TEC teams and our clients implementation partners. You will use various tools and platforms interchangeably to prepare impactful analyses and deliverables for our clients to evaluate opportunities and demonstrate meaningful progress toward a sustainable clean energy future. You will work with internal stakeholders across teams and external stakeholders representing our clients Energy Efficiency Program portfolios to execute reporting deliverables and streamline the process involved in producing them.

Work will be split between supporting the regulatory reporting needs of Program Administrator clients and TECs programs and internal operations. Regulatory Reporting scope will include requesting compiling and preparing data for CPUC reporting as well as supporting administrative tasks in the coordination and delivery of reporting services. For TECs internal operations the scope will include helping the team support users in various platforms utilized at TEC coordinating internally with the Data Team participating in tool development and strategic planning discussions as well as coordinating the scheduling and note-taking for data-focused and related meetings.

Qualified candidates are able to effectively engage with external clients and their implementation partners accurately track energy project details and program documentation coordinate and perform administrative duties at meetings develop reports and presentation content and be able to effectively support multiple team members across various departments. Our team is assigned to responsibilities based on TECs program activities and needs; therefore TEC is interested in candidates who can be flexible and leverage their skills across TECs projects and initiatives. One of TECs values is learning on the fly which means we expect a successful candidate to be able to learn and grow on the job and build expertise by trial and error. TEC continues to build its data capabilities and workforce capacity and this position will contribute directly to that. TEC will offer training and resources dependent upon the candidates existing knowledge base and business needs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Support Reporting of Energy Project & Program Implementation

  • Coordinate internally and externally to collect data inputs from program implementers follow up on information requests and facilitate a timely and accurate response per reporting timelines and specifications.

  • Utilize Google Sheets/Excel for data analysis and translation to align with standard reporting formats maintain and refine templates used by program implementers for standardized reporting and track schedules deliverables and progress towards milestones.

  • Produce internal and external monthly and quarterly reports of incentive claims from energy efficiency projects implemented and programmatic accomplishments (including metrics and indicators)

  • Assist in the assembling organization and completion of Annual Reports and other reports for our clients Energy Efficiency Program portfolios to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).

  • Assist in the development of process streamlining and workflow automations for report development including aspects related to the collection of data inputs from internal and external parties.

  • Prepare forecasting analyses and reports in support of legal regulatory filings on behalf of our clients Energy Efficiency Program portfolios such as advice letters to the CPUC and formal responses to proceedings open to public comment.

Perform General & Administrative Duties

  • Schedule and support the facilitation of internal and external meetings developing program correspondence including reports presentations agendas minutes and tracking of action items.

  • Assist in tracking reporting and analysis of metrics on attainment of contracted goals deliverables and objectives by using tracking templates and customer relationship management (CRM) databases.

  • Assist with maintenance of data fields reports and report types in CRM database

  • Produce regularly scheduled updates and reports on the progress of assigned projects.

  • Support QC and data transfer input tasks as requested.

  • Provide administrative support to working groups for data-related discussions and initiatives.

  • Develop a solid comprehension of program components and initiatives.

  • Conduct research as instructed and present findings to internal staff.

  • Serve as a company-wide resource for TEC.

  • Assist with collecting and preparing monthly data for TECs internal ERP system.

  • Provide internal administrative support for users interacting with TECs ERP system.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of professional experience

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Data Science Analytics Mathematics Statistics Computer Science Environmental Science Sustainability Economics/Financial modeling or Engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Able to navigate spreadsheet program functionality with intermediate-level MS Excel and Google Sheets skills such as lookup/pivot tables and conditional formatting.

  • Proficiency in data process and workflow development documentation troubleshooting and iteration

  • Good project management skills demonstrated by:

    • Ability to perform required project tasks independently

    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks to support various team members

    • Ability to complete assignments in a thorough accurate and timely manner

    • Attention to detail and follow-through in tasks that meet requirements for regulatory and contract deliverables

  • Proficiency in business correspondence developing reports and following processes

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient in English (verbal and written)

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand fundamentals of accurate reporting quality assurance & quality control identifying patterns and issues and developing solutions

  • Valid drivers license insurance and access to a vehicle.

  • Have an active cell phone plan service.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce platform and Google Apps

  • Experience with Netsuite/OpenAir/Suite Projects Pro ERP systems

  • Experience with energy incentive programs applications and processes

  • Has a passion for and basic understanding of energy efficiency and distributed energy resource concepts

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will be primarily remote except when business needs require in-person attendance at meetings and events at TEC offices or customer sites. COMPENSATION

Salary: This positions starting base pay range is $23.08 -$31.25/hour ($48000 - $65000 annually). This hiring range is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range at the time of the posting and is subject to change. The compensation offered will be determined by various factors including a candidates experience education training skills and certifications.
