Minimum Education
Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required
Registered nurse graduated from a school of nursing.
BSN preferred

JOB SUMMARY
As a Emergency Department Nurse Educator you will play a crucial role in the healthcare industry by developing and implementing training programs and educational materials for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in the emergency room setting. You will assess the learning needs of the nursing team design educational initiatives and provide ongoing support to ensure the highest standards of patientcare are met. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to the continuous professional development of nursing staff promoting best practices and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective healthcare services. Provides orientation training and competency testing of new staff members. Provides continuing education and competency testing to all staff.
Reports to: Director of Emergency Services
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collaborate with healthcare leadership to identify learning needs and develop training programs.
Create comprehensive educational curricula and instructional materials for nursing professionals.
Deliver engaging educational sessions on various topics such as disease management patient safety and evidence-based practices.
Conduct hands-on training sessions workshops simulations and case studies to enhance clinical skills including mock code/MET team simulations.
Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff providing guidance and support in complex patient scenarios.
Evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives through assessments exams and feedback mechanisms.
Provide mentoring and coaching to nursing staff fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Stay updated with current healthcare practices regulations and technological advancements in the nursing field.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the integration of education into patient care practices.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based protocols.
Maintain accurate documentation of training programs and participant progress.
Serve as an advocate for education promoting the importance of lifelong learning.
The ED educator is responsible for understanding and teaching regulatory compliance in relation to standards set forth by CMS The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.
