POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct in-depth background investigations and comprehensive social media analyses of individuals business entities and other participants across multiple jurisdictions and lines of business. Develop actionable intelligence leads to support the Major Case and Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Teams.
- Collect and analyze large volumes of data using specialized analytical software to proactively identify suspicious trends and patterns related to organized insurance fraud activities.
- Synthesize and communicate complex investigative findings through oral briefings narrative reports link analysis studies and timelines.
- Participate in the development of fraud prevention strategies and emerging data analytics technologies. Assist in delivering fraud awareness training initiatives.
- Develop and maintain external relationships with industry stakeholders law enforcement and others involved in fraud investigations detection and prevention.
- Respond to requests from law enforcement and the SIU industry for collaboration in major case investigations.
- Collaborate closely with SIU management and team members
QualificationsCOMPETENCIES/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Experience in First and Third-Party Casualty Property and Workers Compensation.
- Highly proficient in data mining and research skills with the ability to navigate public records social media and claims industry databases for conducting background investigations into individuals and business entities.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for recognizing trends and patterns across multiple claims with the ability to think creatively.
- Excellent verbal and formal report writing skills with a meticulous eye for detail and the ability to convey complex investigative findings clearly and succinctly.
- Experience with claims litigation the discovery process and the documentation and preservation of evidence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access with a strong desire to learn data analytics and mapping programs.
- Familiarity with data visualization applications (e.g. Netmap I2 Analyst Notebook).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
EDUCATION:
- A college degree and/or prior analyst experience at another insurance carrier or law enforcement agency is preferred.
- Professional insurance designations are desired but not required.
The pay range for the role is $75000 to $120000. The specific offer will depend on an applicants skills and other factors.
