AT&T maintains active contracts and relationships with U.S. Government entities that require secure communications and systems. The operational need to add members to our support staff will continue to enable robust solutions in the IT Service and Support framework. The position supports both the active contracts as well as new contract support requests in facilitation of business capture operations new technology insertion. Close relationship building with the customers ensure operational readiness and compliance.
AT&T is seeking an experienced IT engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on role requiring a seasoned professional with a comprehensive IT background to support our systems including networking compute/virtual infrastructure operations voice call manager systems and new technology integration. The team also handles day-to-day security compliance and user administration. The successful candidate will lead the integration configuration deployment security remediation and operations of AT&T Managed CWAN Services for the VPO business unit.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Expertise in Linux-based operating systems: Red Hat CentOS VMware KVM
- Windows operating system environment support
- Multi-platform support of OEM appliances Windows and Linux VMware based appliances
- Mentoring junior and mid-level staff in best practices for installation and operations
- VMware Systems Administration (vCenter vSphere Horizon EUC)
- Patching and remediation of monitored systems and networks with the team
- Tier 3 service support interfacing with Tier 2
- IT service delivery assurance and operations
- Assist in developing new shared services (product deployments customized solutions)
- Proficiency in scripting: Linux Bash Windows PowerShell etc. for deployment of applications and system administration support
- Providing technical implementation support for security compliance and system accreditation processes
Required Clearance:
- Top Secret SCI with poly
- CISSP Virtual Certifications key (DoDD 8570/ DoDD 8140)
- Comparable VMware certifications RHCE MS Certifications Security Certs in general to IAT/IAM levels 1-3
Required Clearance:

- Must be a US Citizen
- Bachelors degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Virtualization Windows and Linux Computing solution engineering and architecture solutions
- Experience with on premise cloud and hybrid-cloud based deployments
- US citizenship is required; able to obtain and retain federal security clearance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leader with team-oriented interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interface with a broad range of people and roles
- Active Cleared Individual clearance supporting the overall business up to TS/SCI/CI Poly
- CISSP Virtual Certifications key (DoDD 8570/ DoDD 8140)
- Experience with ITSM and/or ServiceNow
- Comparable VMware certifications RHCE MS Certifications Security Certs in general to IAT/IAM levels 1-3
- Working knowledge of common operating systems (Windows Linux etc.) and basic endpoint security principles
- Experience with automation of systems reports and administrative tools
- VMware virtualization both in the standard hypervisor and in VDI
Our Senior System Engineers earn between $120000 -$180000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography experience expertise and education/training.
