Seaspan Shipyards is one of North Americas most modern shipyards and unique in its ability to provide a complete range of services including new construction conversion refit repair and life-cycle maintenance work for Canadas Coast Guard and Navy as well as commercial vessels including cruise-ships and deep-sea vessels. Seaspan Shipyards operations include Vancouver Shipyards Vancouver Drydock and Victoria Shipyards.

United Way British Columbia is a community impact organization who responds to emerging issues in our communities co-creating programs where and when theyre needed most. Working with community members local businesses agencies and governments we strengthen vital connections that support people in need across British Columbia.

The Campaign Associate Program is a full-time Fall work term that gives individuals an exciting opportunity to make a difference in their community try new things build their networks strengthen skills and raise resources for the improvement of their community. Campaign Associates help local organizations to run workplace campaigns raising funds to support the communities we call home. Loaned Campaign Associates are seconded to United Way for the work term and paid their regular salary by their employer.

The Intern United Way Campaign will be responsible for supporting the 2025 United Way workplace campaign at Seaspan. This role offers a chance to make a measurable impact in the community strengthen skills and collaborate with team members to run a successful fundraising campaign.A valid drivers license and access to a vehicle is required for this role.

Note: This role will likely be a hybrid of work-from-home and in-office work (at 2 Pemberton Avenue North Vancouver) with an occasional requirement to visit local campaign partners to coordinate campaign activity and pick up or drop off materials. All in-person work requirements will adhere to current provincial health guidelines.

What youll do

  • Support a range of workplace campaigns ranging in company size employment sector and campaign dollar value under the supervision of a Campaign Manager.
  • Lead empower educate and encourage workplace volunteers to run successful workplace fundraising campaigns.
  • Provide administrative support for Seaspans United Way Committee including supporting the onlineauction portal activitiestaking meeting minutes preparing presentations and idea-generating for campaign activities.

What youll bring

  • Enrollment in a 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate degree program.
  • Organized detail oriented self-motivated and driven.
  • A valid drivers license and access to a vehicle is beneficial.
  • Computer savvy with knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite and an interest in digital communication.
  • Able to work under pressure; meet deadlines and exercise tact and discretion.
  • Looking for an exciting challenge to make a measurable impact in the lives of British Columbians.
  • Looking to advance their careers and test their strengths in varied environments.
  • Able to build positive relationships effectively support team members and collaborate on solutions.

No fundraising or account management experience is required. United Way provides all necessary training and coaching to help Campaign Associates support the running of effective fundraising campaigns including a one-week orientation program.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.

Start Date of Internship: Monday August 25th 2025

End Date of Internship: Friday December 19th 2025 (4-Months)
