Role Summary: The purpose of the role is to be responsible for designing implementing and delivering training programs that enhance the sales capabilities of internal sales teams. This role will focus on equipping the sales staff with the tools techniques skills and knowledge necessary to achieve sales targets improve customer satisfaction and contribute to the overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Development:
Design and develop engaging results-oriented training programs tailored to the specific needs of the sales teams Institutional as well as SME
Create and update training materials including manuals presentations and online resources to keep up with product updates market trends and sales strategies.
Delivery of Training Sessions:
Conduct in-person or virtual training sessions for sales teams focusing on sales techniques product knowledge customer service skills and other relevant areas.
Lead role-playing exercises and group discussions to foster active learning and engagement.
Conduct regular refresher courses and product training to ensure ongoing skill development.
Sales Performance Monitoring:
Assess the effectiveness of training through performance metrics feedback and sales results.
Conduct regular assessments for skills & knowledge
Track individual and team sales performance to identify areas for improvement and provide additional support and coaching.
Regularly report on training progress outcomes and improvements to management.
Individual support:
Provide on-the-job coaching/ Individual handholding to sales staff helping them apply new skills and techniques to their daily interactions with customers.
Offer constructive feedback
Product Knowledge & expertise:
Stay up-to-date with industry trends new product releases and competitor activities within the FMCG retail sector.
Ensure that all training is aligned with the company s product portfolio and business objectives.
Collaboration:
Work closely with sales leaders and managers to identify training needs and align learning strategies with overall business goals.
Collaborate with HR to ensure training is integrated into employee development plans.
Participate in cross-functional teams to support product launches or promotional campaigns with relevant training.
Continuous Improvement:
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and refine delivery methods and content based on feedback and evolving business requirements.
Introduce innovative training tools or approaches to maximize learning outcomes and engagement.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Business Marketing or a related field. Certification in Sales Training or Learning & Development is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a sales training role preferably within the retail FMCG sector.
