Your Baby Scan are recruiting for a sonographer to join the team at our Crewe scan centre. The ideal candidate must be clinically able and would be able to deliver both first class customer service giving customers a premium experience second-to-none whilst delivering a safe and accurate service. The ideal candidate would be compassionate towards our customers concerns and able to make positive conversation with customers before and during the scan helping them to relax as well as being confident to answer questions from customers and their family during the scan. We offer a calm relaxed and positive environment using the very latest technology and fully support all staff with keeping their skills and training up to date through CPD accredited training courses. Full training on Your Baby Scan procedures and processes will be provided.
Duties of the role to include:
- Maintaining a safe and clean scan room
- Ensuring ultrasound equipment is cleaned between all scans
- Welcome customers into the scan room in a warm and welcoming manner
- Ensure that customer details are accurate and that the customer consents to the procedure with full understanding of the risks involved
- Navigate around the fetus/baby and guide customers around the body parts that they are viewing in 2D
- Capture images in 3D of the fetal face hands and feet
The role is available on a part-time basis up to 2 days per week
Requirements
Candidates must be:
- Able to perform basic health assessment of the embryo/fetus including CRL/HC/FL measurement check against GA and FHR.
- Able to perform scans to check embryo/fetal health able to identify bleeding and any cause for concern
- Able to correctly and accurately identify abnormalities during scans such as cleft lip and other fetal development abnormalities
- Aware of NHS protocols for obstetric ultrasound
- Aware of SoR/BMUS guidelines for obstetric ultrasound
- Able to communicate well and deliver news of suspected fetal abnormalities or no fetal heartbeat in a calm clear and compassionate manner
All candidates must hold relevant qualifications in ultrasound specifically (ideally with a foundation in radiography). Candidates must hold valid HCPC registration at the time of application.
