Essential Functions
Each right-of-way crew member will have varied functions assigned and expected based upon his/her progression through the training program. The right-of-way foreman will guide the training and assign appropriate duties to the crew member.
The following duties will be expected of a completely trained crew member.
- Perform tree trimming to maintain clearance of overhead lines.
- Remove brush and other obstructions from the right-of-way.
- Apply chemical treatment to control brush growth.
- Assists line crews as assigned.
- Properly maintain and show care for essential job-related equipment and other shop and truck maintenance.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings and ongoing training.
- Mechanical aptitude to use chain saws and other equipment required to complete the job.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Assists other departments initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
To perform this job successfully an individual should have an equivalent of the following education and/or experience.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a current (CDL) commercial drivers license.
- Be able to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Be able to obtain bucket truck and high angle rescue certifications.
