Reporting to the Assistant Director for the Adjustment Revenue and Reconciliation Unit the Bookkeeper will be responsible for working on any Section 8 payments related aspects suspension issues and other projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
-Review of requests for missing payments with regards to voided payments cancelled invoices. holdover proceedings missing payments due to system error excess recoupments and bank account /debit card issues.
-Check reason for any related suspensions and follow-up with stakeholders to resolve.
-Review Siebel Reports Check Tracking List for any returns.
-Perform inquiries in Oracle to verify that payments are reconciled/cancelled.
-Complete payment breakdown sheet and forward for NYCHA Executive adjustments to be completed.
-Perform complete check of keyed payments after cut-off date for any cancellations or corrections. Submit such list to supervisor as necessary.
-Ensure payments are being made to correct vendor.
-Calculate accuracy of amounts with regards to current NYCHA share any Lease Renewal or Recertification.
-Review for reinstatement of relevant tenants to ensure payment will be made in Siebel.
-Check that agreement number/ line is active and corresponds with current/ new vendor.
-Work closely with VCU on questions/corrections.
-Review of IRS-B Penalty List for each year.
-Participate in special projects as required.

BOOKKEEPER - 40526
Qualifications :
(1) Completion of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university accredited by regional national professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) including 6 credits in accounting; or
(2) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and two years of satisfactory full-time bookkeeping experience; or
(3) A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to 1 or 2 above. College education may be substituted for experience in 2 above on the basis that 15 semester credits from an accredited college may be substituted for each year of required experience. However all candidates must have a high school diploma or its educational equivalent and either 6 semester credits in accounting from an accredited college or 6 months of experience as described in 2 above.
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level III individuals must have in addition to meeting the minimum requirements at least one year of experience as a Bookkeeper (40526) or at least four years of satisfactory full-time bookkeeping experience.
