Legal Assistant for Boutique Law Firm in Irvine seeks a Japanese speaking associate attorney
About Us:
We are a boutique law firm offering a collaborative and multicultural environment. Our practice spans corporate personal injury litigation trust & estate and cross-border matters involving Japanese and American clients.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a bilingual (Japanese-English) licensed attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills in both languages and experience or interest in handling U.S.-Japan legal matters. This position offers significant client interaction diverse casework and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and representation in areas such as corporate law personal injury trust & estate or litigation
- Draft and review contracts and legal documents in both Japanese and English
- Communicate with Japanese clients and legal counterparts
- Conduct legal research and analysis for cross-border matters
- Support senior attorneys with case management and client development
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in California or eligible for bar admission
- Native or near-native proficiency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written)
- 1-3 years of legal experience preferred but recent J.D. graduates with relevant background may be considered
- Understanding of Japanese business culture and legal concepts is a strong plus
- Strong research writing and communication skills
