Position: Barrister
Salary: 60000
Locations: North West England or South of England
Contract: Permanent Full-Time
We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded advocacy team seeking two skilled Barristers to join their growing practice. One position is based in the North West (Manchester) and the other in ideally within a commutable distance of the South of England.
This role would suit individuals from chambers the employed Bar or a civil litigation background. While personal injury experience is preferred candidates with broader litigation expertise will also be considered.
You will represent claimants in a variety of hearings including trials CMCs/CCMCs Interim Hearings IAHs and Stage 3 Portal Hearings. The majority of work is fast-track though there are opportunities to handle multi-track litigation. Full case instructions are provided in a format similar to external counsel.
Advocacy at hearings across England and Wales
Drafting pleadings skeleton arguments and legal advice
Staying current with case law procedural rules and legislation
Supporting junior advocates with drafting and case preparation
Providing a high standard of representation and client care
Regular travel across the country including overnight stays when required
Current practising certificate
Higher Rights of Audience (desirable)
Strong understanding of Civil Procedure Rules
Demonstrated advocacy experience
Excellent communication drafting and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage independent caseloads
Strong attention to detail and professional discretion
IT proficient; familiarity with Proclaim CMS is advantageous
Full UK driving licence and own vehicle preferred (travel expenses covered)
