Adjunct Woodwinds Instructor

Position Summary

Livingstone College is seeking a dynamic skilled and resourceful Adjunct Woodwinds Instructor to join our music faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodwinds performance and pedagogy with the ability to inspire and instruct students across a range of instruments including flute saxophone and clarinet. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality engaging instruction to students of varying skill levels. Preference will be given to candidates with marching band jazz and orchestral experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The results you will deliver each day that matter most!

  • Teach individual woodwinds lessons to music majors and band members at the undergraduate level.
  • Prepare students for recitals end-of-semester juries and ensemble performances.
  • Record evidence of student progress and assessment using Blackboard in accordance with program learning outcomes student learning outcomes and the quality enhancement plan.
  • Demonstrate commitment to growth of the musical arts in the Salisbury community and growth of the Livingstone College Music and Theater Arts Department.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/ Experience

What you will need to be successful!

  • Masters degree in music Performance or a related field; Doctorate preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach a range of woodwind instruments including but not limited to saxophone flute and clarinet.
  • Preference given to applicants with significant experience as a performer and teacher in a variety of styles including marching band and/or jazz combo.
