Description
Job Summary
Responsible for cleaning repairing and the overall operation of the melting furnaces. Safely transfers molten metal to the holding furnaces via fork truck.
Critical Functions
- Critical functions absorbed by other associates in same or similar position(s) within the department.
Position Responsibilities
- Transfers molten metal to holding furnaces by means of fork truck.
- Melts re-melt sows and ingot.
- Pours and pulls ladles as directed.
- Runs samples for analyzing chemical composition of aluminum.
- Cleans holding furnaces.
- Performs 5S housekeeping throughout and at end of shift.
- Performs various duties of group leader in his/her absence.
- Assists in the repair of furnaces and furnace doors.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Experience operating a fork truck preferred.
- Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong communication skills.
- Quality conscious.
- Ability to pay high attention to detail.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to follow a defined process.
