CAMPUS EVENTS ASSISTANT

The Campus Events Assistant supports the Campus Events Coordinator in the coordination and execution of campus events. This role involves assisting with logistical aspects to ensure seamless and successful events. The Assistant also helps ensure events align with institutional standards and policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Though not exhaustive the essential responsibilities of the Campus Events Assistant include the following:

  • Assist in planning and managing logistics for campus events including but not limited to commencement conferences and special gatherings.
  • Help coordinate with facilities and custodial teams to submit and manage work orders for table and chair arrangements ensuring timely setup and teardown.
  • Support the maintenance of the campus calendaring system ensuring events are accurately scheduled.
  • Assist in the vetting process for campus events ensuring proper use and approval of campus spaces.
  • Help review event proposals from various departments to ensure they meet institutional guidelines and requirements.
  • Perform physical tasks such as moving and setting up tables and chairs often requiring lifting and carrying.
  • Support the coordination of rental agreements and summer conferences.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1 year of experience required.
  • Accurate and exemplary attention to detail and ability to problem solve required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of working with diverse groups required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving tables and chairs required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed required

Pay is competitive and salary is commensurate with experience. This full-time position offers a full benefits package including paid tuition at the College for eligible dependents.
