The Work You Will Do:

Permit Technician

Director of Production/Design/Drainage

This position assists with the preparation and review of permit applications which includes reviewing reports construction plans and other environmental documents for permitting leading to the acquisition of environmental permits from State & Federal agencies. This position will manage the Districts wildlife camera program including performing camera maintenance field checks reviewing and organizing collected data and sharing with the public.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Assists with the preparation and review of permit applications and acquisition of permits. Reviews reports construction plans and environmental permit applications for consistency with Department standards and applicable agency criteria and provides written comments including permit determinations. Attends agency coordination meetings.

Manages the Districts wildlife camera program by determining camera placement locations scheduling and performing camera maintenance field checks reviewing and organizing collected data and sharing with the public. Updates SharePoint with wildlife crossing information and ensures collected data is organized and displayed accurately. Coordinates with outside organizations on shared wildlife camera data and uploads pertinent footage to the Departments files.

Assists with the review and development of scope and staff hour estimates for permit activities. Negotiates scope and staff hours with consultants on behalf of the Department for permit related activities.

Assists with the management of the Districts Mitigation program by estimating and reviewing mitigation needs requesting mitigation funds and ensuring proof of mitigation purchases have submitted to agencies per permitting requirements.

Performs jurisdictional determinations and establishes jurisdictional boundaries of wetland and surface waters in accordance with agency requirements. Coordinates and participates in field reviews with consultants and environmental permitting agencies. Prepares appropriate agency wetland data forms and impact tables.
