Position Overview:

As a Controls Technician you will work collaboratively and independently with highly qualified manufacturing professionals who are responsible for the electrical controls of production equipment and robotics used to manufacture outboard and sterndrive propellers for the recreational boating industry.

You will be an integral member of a manufacturing team committed to delivering superior work with a team of managers supervisors engineers maintenance technicians and production employees on the plant floor as you own and manage assigned projects from inception to completion.

This person will be responsible to design troubleshoot and improve factory control and automation systems for new and existing equipment. This position is 3rd Shift (Sunday - Thursday 11pm - 7am).

Essential Functions:

  • Support manufacturing by troubleshooting automation and controls issues
  • Assists in the control of quality and productivity while maintaining good housekeeping and safety standards on a continual basis
  • Maintains a functional knowledge of the operations software and hardware
  • Engineer controls and software solutions for manufacturing equipment
  • Assists in ignition-based dashboard development
  • Participate on internal teams to facilitate the design development maintenance and continuous improvement of factory automation and equipment
  • Create maintain and modify Fanuc Robot programs for existing and new production equipment.
  • Works closely with all team members to ensure each task is completed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Attends safety meetings and training programs and participates in plant safety programs as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Exposure to technologies such as RFID vision systems and robots
  • Dependable self-motivated and engaged learner
  • Need to be able to communicate effectively verbally and written via shift notes and emails

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related college courses or relevant associates degree
  • 2 years of experience with Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
  • 2 years of experience with Mechanical Knowledge
  • 2 years of Fanuc Robot experience
  • Knowledge of scripting SQL Scada notepad
  • Knowledge of Python C/C# Visual Basic and Java
  • The ability to read and understand controls prints and modify prints using AutoCAD
  • Exposure to Microsoft products including Excel Outlook PowerPoint

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to occasionally lift to 35 lbs.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $53100.00 - $83800.00 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills relevant experience business needs and geographic addition to base pay this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.
