The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Family Physician.
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides primary health care services consistent with the philosophy of Redding Rancheria Tribal Health Program. Assist the Medical Director as a preceptor and professional supervisor to the mid-level providers.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed California Physician Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Practice required.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of primary care.
- CPR certification ACLS PALS certification preferred.
- Must be fingerprinted and pass background check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Indian preference.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Provide direct medical services within the scope of a Family Practice Physician with optional obstetrics to program patients while demonstrating awareness and sensitivity to Native American health care needs. Focus is on patients with chronic unstable or multi-system problems but does include acute simple illness as well as health care maintenance.
2. Record patient chart entries in Subjective Objective Assessment Plan (SOAP) format following RRIHS policies and Medicaid and Medicare guidelines.
3. Assure that health education is provided with each patient encounter.
4. Assist in the development of Standards of Care for the medical department.
5. Provide required federal and state ambulatory patient care data on appropriate forms.
6. Serve as preceptor for FNP/PA and other mid-level clinic providers including consultations case presentations chart review on-the-job training and peer review.
7. Obtains appropriate consultations when problems presented are outside the scope of practice or when unfamiliar with a particular aspect of patient care.
8. Provide out-of-clinic patient services as determined with Executive Director of Health Services including but not limited to procedures surgeries deliveries newborn care hospice care or home visits.
9. Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities including regularly scheduled department and provider meetings case management Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee Drug Utilization and Review clinical audits and peer review.
10. Advise the Medical Department Management Team of any situations that may adversely impact the efficiency of the Medical Department.
