POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Food & Nutrition Training Coordinator is responsible for providing staff training and support kitchen production assistance and guidance quality recipe and menu consistency. Assisting with communication between district staff Food & Nutrition Services employees and students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Accredited or eligible for Serve-Safe Certification MSBO Certification
Minimum of 5 years operations experience in school food service program management.
Current knowledge of all Federal and State child nutrition program regulations pertaining to all USDA food programs provided within the Huron Valley School District
Aptitude and ability to work with word-processing spreadsheet and cafeteria point-of sale
Excellent communication customer service and team building skills.
A demonstrated ability to manage a comprehensive food service operation with a $3M annual budget
Ability to maintain confidentiality of classified information.
The ability to successfully communicate with and relate to students parents and school officials as well as to cooperate with state and county officials
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
at 15 locations in accordance with all local state and federal program requirements and regulations
Conducts periodic site visits and evaluations
Assists as a contact for all kitchen staff
Assists with potential employee interviews
Provides new employee orientation and monitors probation and training
Maintains daily staffing levels and placement of substitutes at all locations to assure smooth
operations and high-quality customer service
Assists in daily and bi-monthly attendance
Assists with the development of all cycle and ala carte menus.
Coordinates weekly food and non-food orders and adjustments with fifteen kitchens
Lead coordination and monitoring of inventories
Assist in coordination of operational activity associated with the school districts cafeteria POS
Skyward system
Cashier training and trouble-shooting periodic audits and adjustments as required
Assists in coordination of maintenance work orders
Assists with equipment needs
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Associates Degree preferred
LANGUAGE MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS:Ability to speak and write to apply mathematical concepts to practical to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
