Required Education High School Diploma/GED required technical schooling preferred
Required Experience Certified Welding Inspector Certification is Required. Minimum of 1 year of related technical schooling or 2 years of welding inspection experience (or combination totaling 12 months)
The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) plays a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of fabricated parts and assemblies. This position is responsible for performing detailed inspections using a variety of tools interpreting blueprints and specifications and documenting results. The ideal candidate is a quality-focused professional who thrives in a team environment and takes pride in precision work.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of raw materials in-process components and finished products for conformance to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints welding symbols and technical drawings
- Set up and operate inspection tools gauges and equipment
- Document and report inspection results accurately and in a timely manner
- Identify and investigate non-conformances; collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues
- Perform routine maintenance on inspection tools and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of related technical schooling or 2 years of inspection experience (or combination totaling 12 months)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints welding symbols and technical specifications
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and operate forklifts/hoists
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
