We are currently hiring for a Chemical Engineer Polymer Manufacturing. In this role you will support safe efficient and high-quality production by optimizing processes and scaling up formulations. This role works cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement troubleshoot issues and ensure process safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Support safe efficient and consistent daily polymer manufacturing operations.
- Assist with scaling up formulations and optimizing production for quality and throughput.
- Participate in troubleshooting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Analyze data to identify trends and drive continuous process improvements.
- Maintain and update PSM documentation including P&IDs PHAs and SOPs.
- Participate in safety audits risk assessments and PSM compliance activities.
- Partner with EHS and maintenance on safety systems and mechanical integrity programs.
- Collaborate with R&D Quality and Operations on new products and process enhancements.
- Lead or support special projects such as raw material trials and energy initiatives.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of production and process data.
- Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or in Mechanical Engineering/Materials Science
- 1 years of industry experience and/ a combination of prior internship in the chemical industry preferred
- Strong problem-solving data analysis and process optimization skills.
- Familiarity with or ability to learn SPC concepts and apply to process control.
- Understanding of or ability to learn chemical processes and perform relevant calculations and equipment analyses.
- Basic knowledge of safety practices and compliance with OSHA/EH&S standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn systems such as DELTA V SCADA and PLC/HMI interfaces.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. independently; and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
