What Youll Do:
As the Director of Operations you will plan be responsible for safety management of project managers superintendents and field staff. Evaluating and maintaining staffing needs in each department. Balancing and scheduling field staff to complete current jobs. Prioritizing and maintaining schedule for estimating projects. And creating and training of controlled documents to exceed business goals.
Your Accountabilities in The Role:
- Promotes and enforces a strong culture of safety across all job sites. Maintains strict adherence to all safety guidelines policies and procedures to protect personnel and uphold regulatory standards.
- Oversees project planning by assigning tasks and managing team workloads efficiently. Validates and approves construction budgets cost estimates and timelines ensuring alignment with project goals and timely delivery. Supports project managers and superintendents in maintaining schedule integrity.
- Leads mentors and evaluates project managers superintendents and field staff fostering a high-performance culture grounded in company core values. Provides guidance and feedback address personnel issues and ensure all team members uphold organizational standards and expectations.
- Participates in job kick-off meetings to align project scope schedule and customer objectives. Conducts internal pre-construction planning sessions to set clear project targets in collaboration with sales estimating and operations teams ensuring a unified and strategic approach to project execution.
- Drives operational excellence by supporting teams in resolving technical challenges and ensuring code compliance. Monitors project performance through monthly budget analyses and interact with industry professionals to maintain quality standards. Enhances profitability via strategic cost-saving initiatives and thorough oversight of design documents and schedules.
- Delivers superior value through clear communication detailed organization and high-quality execution. Acts as a point of resolution for client inquiries and concerns maintaining strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Position Requirements:
- Education: An Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or similar field preferred; will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 5 years of Construction Management experience preferred.
- Certifications: OSHA 30
- Functional Skills: Strong researching planning prioritizing organization and execution skills required. Advanced analytical and critical thinking ability; forward-thinking with strong business and market acumen to recommend solutions; excellent at managing various projects and large amounts of data at one time; creative ability to develop content that is aesthetically pleasing and drives action; excellent attention to details.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Advanced ability with technology computer software including Procore Outlook Excel Word and Project.
- Language Skills: Advanced verbal and professional writing skillset; able to present new ideas and influence others.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Demonstrates a high customer-focus and support personality; positive and optimistic; takes initiative and has a drive to get things done independently; excellent with data yet personable with others; has a high level of integrity; continuous learner; able to reflect and make well thought out decisions; some creativity to create enhanced solutions targeted towards business goals; flexible to move with the priorities. Other Important Information:
Position Status & Salary: Salaried or Hourly Position. Pay is commensurate with proven expertise and behavior skills that fit the position.
And the compensation will grow as the team member grows!
Reports To: President
Core Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; with 35 hours a week for part-time; 40 hours a week on average for full-time.
Travel: 50% to local job sites
Work Conditions: Primarily exposed to normal office environment some off-site events. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
