The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the hotels overnight operations and ensuring accurate accounting of daily financial transactions. This position blends customer service with administrative and accounting tasks requiring a detail-oriented and reliable individual to manage guest services reconcile accounts and prepare daily reports.
Front Desk Duties:
Greet and check in/check out guests during overnight hours.
Answer guest inquiries and handle complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
Manage reservations cancellations and no-shows according to hotel policies.
Monitor and ensure the security and safety of the property during overnight hours.
Audit and Accounting:
Reconcile and balance all daily financial transactions and room charges.
Run night audit reports for management and prepare daily summary reports.
Post charges to guest accounts and ensure all revenue is properly documented.
Process credit card transactions and verify end-of-day deposits.
Administrative Tasks:
Prepare and distribute daily shift reports to hotel management.
Assist in preparing end-of-day reports and audit logs.
Update and maintain the front desk and audit documentation.
Operations:
Perform regular property walks to ensure safety and cleanliness.
Support other departments (housekeeping maintenance) as needed.
Ensure wake-up calls are set and delivered on time.
High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Hospitality or Accounting is a plus.
Previous hotel front desk or accounting experience preferred.
Proficiency with hotel property management systems ( lightspeed)
Strong math and analytical skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Must be able to work overnight shifts weekends and holidays as required.
Ability to stand or sit for long periods.
May require lifting up to 25 lbs.
Capable of working overnight shifts consistently.
