You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailRome Health is seeking a Medical Imaging Aide - Per Diem. Working under general supervision the M.I. Aide will be responsible for maintaining appropriate productivity and utilizing critical thinking skills to overcome obstacles and maintain patient and departmental flow. They must demonstrate competence in all areas of responsibility after an appropriate training period as determined by departmental leadership. They will also need to work effectively with patients of all ages and in all types of medical situations. Under the supervision of the technologists the M.I. aide is responsible for:
Courteously answers all incoming calls; relays communications as appropriate
Greets and screens all incoming patients in a professional manner
Communicates with front desk/ED/Floors and technologists on patient ETA & status
Under supervision of technologist looks up labs prior results and other pertinent information to assist departmental workflow
Assists with transport of patients when appropriate
Assists in rescheduling exams when appropriate
Assists technologist as needed
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must be able to provide patient care that is compassionate appropriate and accurate. Communicate effectively and demonstrate caring and respectful behaviors when interacting with patients and their families.
Gather and act on essential and accurate information about their patients.
Work with health care professionals and support staff including those from other disciplines to provide patient-focused care.
Must be able to access patients in a knowledgeable and accurate manner.
Verify patient with two identifies.
Assess patients physical capabilities and mobility limitations.
Must have patient safety as highest priority.
Put patient safety health and welfare first by screening patients thoroughly for contraindications and relaying areas of concern to the technologist.
Communicate internally and with other departments in a collaborative manner to achieve common goals.
Scan pertinent documents and technologist notes in PACS
Expedite successive patient services upon completion of exam.
EDUCATION TRAINING EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience in an acute care or medical office setting preferable
