Could you be the full-time Material Handler tojoin our team in Plymouth and be a key member of the Supply ChainTeam based at Laira depot to process delivered material to the customer and returning material to the Supply Chain to ensure availability of material

Your future role

Take on a new challenge in Plymouth and apply your Material Handling expertise in a new cutting-edge field. Youll report to the Platform Materials Manager and work alongside a dedicated and passionate Services team in Alstom UK&I.

Day-to-day youll complete the daily activities required to manage material within the Stores ensuring good material flow and an efficient delivery to our customer. Activities include goods delivery checks stock counting goods issuing serial number tracking and processing of material to suppliers with constant focus on safety and customer service.

Well look to you to perform the following:

  • Check delivery quality and quantity of material on delivery.
  • Book material into the computerised system.
  • Hand over material to customer ensuring traceability.
  • Produce documentation and complete stock audits.
  • Pick and package kits for Exams and remote depots.
  • Pick pack and process broken material to the external Supply Chain.
  • Using computer systems to manage material to hold accurate information related to all aspects of the Stores function.
  • Arranging transport requirements.
  • Managing deliveries to/from depots.
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards.

Educational Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs Grade C and above including Maths and English or equivalent
  • Desirably currently holds Counter Balance and Flexi Truck licences.

Essential Knowledge / Experience

  • Experience within a stores environment
  • Knowledge of SAP and Maximo systems
  • Ability to liaise with other departments and supplier
  • Ability to use IT tools such as Excel Word and MS Office systems
