Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and safety-focused Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a per diem basis. This role provides the flexibility of 12-hour day or night shifts supporting a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality mental health care. The ideal candidate will bring a strong clinical foundation experience with behavioral health patients and confidence using EPIC.
Key Responsibilities:-
Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients with mental health and psychiatric conditions

Administer medications and monitor therapeutic responses and potential side effects

Perform behavioral assessments and implement individualized care plans

Collaborate with psychiatrists therapists and other healthcare professionals

Monitor for safety prevent escalation and respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR

Uphold patient dignity and advocate for supportive recovery-based care

Active RN license in California (Required)

BLS certification (AHA) (Required)

Minimum 1 year of behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience (Required)

Proficiency in EPIC charting system

Strong verbal de-escalation and patient-centered communication skills

Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed

Ability to adapt to unpredictable environments and collaborate across care teams
