Job Description

Were seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to lead our dedicated team at Muswellbrook supporting the Hunter Valley Operations Manager in delivering high-quality timely laboratory services to our valued clients. In this key role youll provide hands-on leadership and guidance to ensure accurate sampling analysis and reportingmeeting client expectations and upholding our commitment to excellence. This is a six-month fixed-term contract.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrate the effective use of risk management tools at the Muswellbrook branch
  • Monitor the team and Promptly intervene when the team is not working at an acceptable level of risk and rectify
  • Lead direct and monitor daily activities of the laboratory work conducted by the Muswellbrook Branch.
  • Coordinate the workload of the Laboratory area through the Muswellbrook Branch with involvement of other branches as required.
  • Lead and direct team members to work collaboratively towards a common goal
  • Proactively make best use of the SGS training provided
  • Develop new team members into functioning members of their team and seek to utilise their potential
  • Provide coaching and mentoring not only in best practice coal preparation and testing processes but in team member personal growth and development of life skills
  • Recruit for Laboratory and assist with onboarding
  • Proactively promote within the Muswellbrook branch the attainment of Cleint KPIs
  • Assist with Ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as required by SGS Management
  •  

Qualifications :

  • Working knowledge of Sampling Preparation Analysis Validation and Reporting
  • Working knowledge of administration tasks
  • Medium level knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proven time management experience including the ability to handle tight and pressured deadlines
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Coal Laboratories
  • Computer skills in Word Excel and CCLAS
