Job Description
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience
- Hold a valid professional teaching certificate or a Masters Degree.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use various data collection (video note taking etc) methods to identify the current reality for teachers
- Assist teachers in setting SMART/PEERS goals to improve student outcomes
- Co-plan / co-teach lessons with teachers when needed
- Model effective classroom management and instructional strategies for teachers
- Follow up with teachers after closing a coaching cycle to ensure transfer of learning
- Document evidence of coaching cycles by submitting a brief coaching report to the principal bi-weekly for each cycle
- Support teachers in participating in professional development to master their teaching
- Work with campus and district leaders to design/deliver PD for teachers
- Join campus/district leaders with walkthroughs/classroom visits on campus
- Work with campus leaders and the PLC guiding coalition to set up and implement campus PLCs
- Work with campus leaders to implement and track the teacher mentorship program on campus
- Provide curriculum writing/revision support to the District Office Academics Department.
- Plan organize and follow up on Science Fair STEM Festival and other STEM-related activities.
- Investigate and plan for the implementation of the STEM Festival
- Supporting students in STEM Festival projects with materials resources and advice
- Supervision of Academic competitions on campus
- Shares STEM events and activities through social media such as Facebook Twitter and Instagram.
- Ability and willingness to participate in events outside the workday schedule
- Must be available to work after school and on weekends
- Work closely with and under the direction of the District STEM Coordinator
- Perform other STEM-related duties as assigned.
