Job Description
Volunteer Coordinator Internship
Catholic Charities Diocese of Nashville has an internship opportunity for a Volunteer Coordinator in its Volunteer program. This opportunity is primarily based at the Catholic Pastoral Center at 2806 McGavock Pk. Nashville TN 37214; some travel may be required. The potential schedule is about 25 hours a week Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with some flexibility.
INTERSHIP Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining accurate program records according to agency guidelines using the Get Connected database.
- Help manage the volunteer website contacting volunteers who create profiles and responding in a timely manner.
- Assist with conducting initial screening of all volunteers based upon program needs.
- Helps with creating a monthly newsletter volunteer recognition and other initiatives to steward volunteers.
- Supports volunteer group logistics.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment and give presentations about becoming a volunteer to community organizations as needed
- Assist with updating program materials as needed.
- Assist in identifying potential community partners.
- Assist with management and administration of volunteer opportunities.
INTERNSHIP Experiences
- Interns will receive training in volunteer management for individuals and groups
- Interns will gain experience in creating and implementing volunteer events
- Interns will receive weekly one-on-one supervision.
- Interns will participate in program department and agency meetings and professional development.
INTERSHIP Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced often changing environment
- Ability to exercise good judgment courtesy and tact in dealing with the public and staff
- Ability to handle confidential information with extreme professionalism
- Ability to plan and organize work
- Ability to follow tasks through to completion
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as a team and independently with minimal direction
- A clean background check
- A valid drivers license and a clean driving record (no accidents or tickets)
