ISS/STUDENT SUPPORT TUTOR
The ISS/Student Support Tutor provides academic and behavioral support to middle school students assigned to in-school suspension and those in need of targeted intervention. This position supports student success by maintaining a structured supportive environment ensuring academic progress and promoting responsible behavior.
- Supervise and monitor students assigned to ISS throughout the school day.
- Maintain a structured respectful and quiet learning environment.
- Ensure students follow the ISS rules and behavioral expectations.
- Communicate with administrators and teachers to collect and provide students with academic assignments.
- Assist students with completing classwork and staying current with the curriculum.
- Track and report student attendance behavior and progress during ISS.
- Encourage reflection and positive behavior through structured check-ins or writing assignments.
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to students who are struggling academically.
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage trust and accountability.
