Farmington Hills - Casual/PRN position

About the Unit

Our team is comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our inpatient pharmacy team collaborates closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication management for hospitalized patients. We oversee the medication storage distribution and management in a variety of settings. We review medication orders for accuracy and potential interactions accurately prepare and dispense medications provide evidence-based drug information monitor drug levels to optimize therapy and educate patients and families about their medications. By prioritizing medication safety and minimizing adverse events we strive to improve patient outcomes and contribute to their overall well-being.

About Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital

Corewell Health Farmington Hills opened on Jan. 19 1965 as a 200-bed facility known then as Botsford General Hospital. Today Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is a 305-bed teaching facility with Level II trauma status.

Scope of Job

Under the direction and supervision of a Pharmacist performs a variety of functions related to preparation storage and distribution of medication within the health system. The student will perform higher levels of professional support as they advance through pharmacy school. Embraces the goals/objectives encompassing Pharmaceutical activities for the Beaumont Healthcare System. Promotes team efforts to manage and achieve departmental/corporate objectives. Demonstrates good judgment and decisiveness throughout daily activities and personal commitment to professional growth.

Must have completed Program Year 1.

Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent Fulfilling requirements towards a Pharm.D. degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Immunization Certification - APhA American Pharmacists Association Outpatient Dept Only 180 Days required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Outpatient Dept Only 180 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Outpatient Dept Only 180 Days required
