The Manville School a highly successful and reputable educational program is seeking an Assistant Teacher for the upcomingschool year. The Assistant Teacher provides academic and behavioral support to students while carrying out curriculum instruction within the classroom under the supervision of the special education teacher. The Assistant Teacher supports implementation of lessons and carries out curriculum instruction tailored to meet students specific learning needs/behavioral profiles. The Assistant Teacher actively participates in academic instruction and classroom management while learning and applying effective evidence-based behavior management techniques. This position is considered to be a training position with direct supervision from educational supervisor and classroom teacher. Essential duties:Plans and implements individualized and small group lessons in specific curriculum areas (1-2 content areas) under the supervision of the special education teacher in the conjunction with the classroom team (lead teacher and behavior support personnel) develop and implement classroom behavior management plan appropriate to the age and social/emotional levels of participates in the daily operation of the classroom including academic instruction and classroom and employs effective behavior management techniques that are consistent with the school-wide model and positive self-esteem and social growth of students through appropriate curriculum and behavioral Quarterly Progress Reports based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for :Bachelors degree in education or a related field is :Experience working with children/students with special needs preferably in a classroom :Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Aid/CPR and Physical Restraint trainings is required or ability to participate in annual training at beginning of employment and annually or as needed throughout letter and a recent resume required for consideration.
