Were looking for a Sales Development professional to join our Stack Testing team.

Montrose is a high-growth Environmental Services company offering Measurement and Analytical services and Environmental Resiliency and Sustainability services to a diverse range of clients in industry and government throughout North America and abroad. Our qualified engineers scientists technicians associates and policy experts are proud of our ability to objectively help industry the public and regulators work constructively together on environmental opportunities.

About the Stack Testing Team

Stack Testing is part of Montroses air quality services division (MAQS). Our Stack Testing division provides emissions measurement services to help our clients determine if their air pollutants exceed their permitted limits. With specialized equipment and technical method testing Montrose is a trusted leader in the Environmental Industry.

About the Sales Development Representative (SDR) Role

We are seeking an SDR to expand our business through outreaching prospective clients and providing sales operations support to the Stack Business Development Team. An SDR is the frontline of our sales organization responsible for identifying and qualifying potential leads nurturing relationships and setting appointments for our Business Development Representatives. You will play a crucial role in building our sales pipeline and driving revenue growth. You will also learn the ins and outs of the business by assisting Business Development Representatives with tasks vital to the sales process such as drafting proposals and securing Purchase Orders.

Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the Stack Business Development team with sales operations tasks such as maintaining CRM hygiene and keeping customer records up to date.

  • Work closely across teams to develop & execute on a sales business plan to meet or exceed the assigned sales quota

  • Prospect and identify new accounts from Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and leverage the latest prospecting software platforms to connect the Stack Business Development team with prospects

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand customer needs and tailor outreach accordingly

  • Conduct outbound activities like calls and emails to generate new business opportunities and increase sales pipeline

  • Utilize sales technology to meet outreach activity goals and maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system

  • Serve as the first point of contact between prospects and the Stack Business Development Team to schedule sales meetings with prospects

  • Stay up to date on industry-specific events and regulations

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Educational Background: Bachelors degree environmental sciences or other life science preferred

  • Lead generation and business development: The ability to proactively prospect pursue and qualify leads and assemble talking points introductory emails and prospecting scripts. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Disciplined sales hygiene: Proactively engage in high-quality sales administration activities consistently using our CRM (Salesforce) as the primary source of truth

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new processes and technologies

  • Previous experience in sales or customer service is a plus but not required

  • Curious courageous and challenges the status quo and offers alternative solutions to problems

  • A team player not a lone wolf; you value the power of collaboration with your teammates and leaders

  • Empathetic and generous assuming positive intent you have the ability to put yourself in others shoes

  • An analytical thinker who thrives on solving problems and has a growth mindset

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook; knowledge of sales tools like Salesforce Outreach 6th Sense a plus.
