DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructors for the University of Hawaii-West Oahus International Short Term Programs will provide a great learning experience for international students. ESL Instructors shall plan organize and carry out responsibilities associated with the role of an Instructor. This program will work with participants from the Silla University.

  • Teach students English speaking skills vocabulary and grammar via group presentation assignments daily English journals group activities etc.
  • Teach ESL courses to students in a virtual/online or in-person environment.
  • ESL courses will focus on English writing pronunciation grammar conversation and basic survival English.
  • Instructors will also integrate various activities that will aid students in connecting their English language learning with practical applications in their daily lives.
  • Immerse students in an English-speaking environments.
  • Provide students with a learning opportunity to broaden educational experience and deepen their understanding of the English Language.
  • Instruct 2-hour English lessons.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education English as a Second Language or related field.
  • At least two years of teaching experience in primary secondary college-level or English as a second language education.
  • Demonstrate respect for values and cultural difference.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable nature.
  • Ability to use Zoom (Online Telecommunications Application)
  • Ability to travel (on island)
