Job Description
This is a fulltime permanent position.

We currently have an exciting role for you to join our Community Safety Team as a Community Safety Officer. In this role you will be responsible for improving community wellbeing and safety by fulfilling our regulation obligations through education and enforcement.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Exercise legislated authority under relevant legislation
- Undertake enforcement action as appropriate including issuing notices and orders and institute follow up action where necessary
- Provide technical advice to the public on community safety matters
- Investigate and enforce legislation under the Dog & Cat Management Act including seizing and impounding any stray lost or dangerous dogs
- Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs to increase awareness and protect public health and safety
- Ability to work over a 7-day roster including outside of business hours and be flexible in working areas across Council.
The successful applicant will have:
- A current Australian Drivers License
- Investigations training is desirable
- Conflict resolution training is desirable
- Highly developed written oral and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt and relate to people from diverse backgrounds
- Effective negotiation skills to deliver positive outcomes to the community in situations where there may be conflict.

This is a Level 4 position which has a current salary range of $94525 - $101474 per annum (plus superannuation).
