K-12 Director of School Counseling

Qualifications:

  1. Massachusetts Certification as a Guidance Counselor
  2. Massachusetts Certification as a Supervisor/Director School Counselor
  3. Master of Education in School Counseling
  4. At least 10 years of experience as a Guidance Counselor
  5. At least 3 years of experience as an administrator

Job Goal: Provides visionary leadership and strategic oversight to design implement and sustain comprehensive guidance and counseling programs for students in Grades K through 12 fostering academic achievement personal growth and college and career readiness

Reports to: The Assistant Superintendent

Responsibilities:

  1. Design implement and monitor a vertically aligned counseling curriculum based on the MA Model and the ASCA National Model
  2. Build and develop benchmarks and developmental outcomes for each grade span
  3. Supervise & evaluate counseling staff
  4. Provide differentiated coaching support and professional learning to ensure high-quality student-centered practices
  5. Serve as the district 504 coordinator for general education ensuring compliance consistency and equitable implementation across all schools
  6. Train Administrators teachers and support staff
  7. Conduct an annual audit of counseling and support services across all levels
  8. Use audit findings to shape district priorities guide PD and make sustainable change
  9. Collaborate with Attleboro School-to-Career Partnership AHS CTE and local higher education institutions
  10. Partner with school psychologists and adjustment counselors to embed tiered SEL supports across all levels
  11. Lead system-wide focus on trauma-informed culturally responsive and strengths-based counseling and instruction
  12. Plan and deliver high-impact professional learning
  13. Collaborate with district learning teams to align student support services with instructional priorities and strategic plans.
  14. Engages in the development of the master schedule
  15. Leads the development and strategic management of the Guidance Services budget ensuring alignment with school priorities and overseeing its implementation under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent
  16. Oversees departmental adherence to all applicable legal regulatory and policy requirements to ensure full compliance and accountability
  17. Any other responsibilities assigned by the Assistant Superintendent
