Job Description

Rome Health is rapidly expanding and we have a need to fill a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist for our inpatient acute care sub-acute rehab/long term care and outpatient weekend on call coverage for per diem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients levels of speech or language difficulty through communication and standardized tests.
  • Develop and carry out individualized treatment plans as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist patients in articulating sounds and improving voice quality.
  • Work with patients to improve reading and writing skills.
  • Develop and implement exercises to strengthen the muscles used in swallowing.
  • Counsel patients and families on coping mechanisms for communication disorders.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient evaluations diagnoses treatment progress and changes in treatment plans.
  • Complete final evaluations when patients finish therapy.
  • Communicate effectively with patients families and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology. (Required)


Experience:

Completion of a degree program associated with Speech-Language Pathology. (Required)

2-3 years of experience preferred.


Licenses and Certifications:

New York State license for Speech-Language Pathology.
