The Opportunity:

Oliver Wyman is recruiting a Knowledge Analyst to support Oliver Wymans European Private Capital (PC) business.

This role reports directly to the PC Senior Knowledge Manager (based in London) and a high level of direct interaction is expected with the global Knowledge Team supporting Private Capital.


Private Capital is a specialized Industry within the Oliver Wyman consulting business working both on deals and post-transaction. We serve private equity firms and their portfolio companies with a focus on creating value within and across the portfolio enabling our clients to deliver differentiated returns on investment to their investors.

Key responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to support the commercial success of Oliver Wymans most profitable European practice through its ambitious growth trajectory. The purpose of the role is to help facilitate knowledge codification and sharing across the Private Capital practice and Oliver Wyman to support Consultants and Partners to deliver engagements and win new opportunities. The Knowledge Analyst assists the PC Senior Knowledge Manager in managing content and developing tools and processes which increase the flow of knowledge within Oliver Wyman.

  • Serve as a key contact to PC Partners and Consultants to help them be commercially successful and impactful by providing the information and resources they need

  • Support the Senior KM and the wider PC Knowledge team in identifying collecting and curating valuable intellectual capital (IC) from projects that can be re-used as assets for future projects

  • Maintain knowledge and file systems and develop databases/tools to help store and share key insights for business development account management etc

  • Lead on short ad-hoc PC Knowledge projects in line with the PC Knowledge plan

  • Serve as support to Senior Knowledge Manager in delivering on the Knowledge Plan efficiently and to a high level of quality

An important aspect of the role will be to build excellent working relationships with the key PC team members in Europe including the Practice Head and build relationships with Researchers and Knowledge Managers across Oliver Wyman globally.

Experience Required:

  • Educated to Degree level

  • 2 years experience in knowledge management research or business development

  • Proven interest in Private Equity or Investment sector

Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate Excel proficiency

  • Strong PowerPoint skills Familiarity with SharePoint or file management tools

  • Familiarity with database and data analysis principles

  • Additional plus if candidates have prior experience in strategy / management consulting / Private Equity

Skills and Attributes:

  • Business-level English

  • A growth mindset and inclination towards personal development

  • Confident stakeholder engagement and management skills

  • Adaptable and agile approach to problem-solving and execution

  • Genuine curiosity about the Private Equity industry

  • Attention to detail and high accuracy in grammar/numeracy

  • Ability to operate under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Ability to track monitor and manage numerous tasks and requests at one time
