Job Description
Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP seeks Senior Software Tools Developer at its facility located at 6 Technology Park Dr Westford Massachusetts 01886.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Develop automated test tools for our embedded software systems. Develop and maintain a comprehensive regression test suite for fire alarm control panels ensuring reliable performance and compliance with industry standards. Design prototype plan estimate and develop high-quality software for testing fire alarm systems with a focus on automation and scalability. Ensure automation software meets all requirements of quality modifiability and extensibility to support long-term development. Track project milestones and adhere to schedules while identifying risks and mitigating them proactively. Prioritize features optimize software solutions and work collaboratively with embedded software engineers to enhance the automated testing process. Collaborate with Software Quality Assurance and support test technicians to ensure alignment with testing goals and procedures contributing to an effective and efficient testing environment. Document testing processes configurations and results to maintain clear traceable records for auditing and quality assurance. Develop and implement continuous integration workflows to improve testing efficiency and integration with the development pipeline. Provide mentorship to junior engineers and help establish best practices within the testing team. Stay updated with advancements in test automation tools and methodologies to drive ongoing improvements in testing capabilities. Telecommuting: Hybrid of 2 days of telecommuting per week allowed.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering Software Engineering Computer Engineering or a related field. Plus 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer Software Developer or related occupation in the software development industry. Additionally the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Multithread multi-process and real-time application development; (2) PC and embedded software design; (3) C and/ or C programming languages; (4) Network Protocols and software development methodology; (5) Generating software used to test life-safety products; (6) Utilizing versioning tools (e.g. Integrity Git); and (7) Utilizing scripting languages (e.g. Bash Make Python).
RATE OF PAY: $ 102565.00 -$136656.52 per year
