Job Description Summary
Under the supervision of the School Therapy Manager and clinical practice guidance of the psychiatrist the school based therapist provides assessment counseling education and safety planning for all patients referred. The therapist works in collaboration with the clinical team and school team to meet the behavioral health needs of the patient. This position identifies treatment needs and risk factors that the patient may experience and applies interventions and skill building techniques.Entity

Job Description
Complete comprehensive clinical assessment of patient referrals for school-based therapy to determine clinically appropriate service recommendations.
Provide individual group and family therapy to patients at the frequency and duration that is clinically indicated in clinical assessment.
Complete treatment planning 90 day summaries treatment progress notes and any additional documentation as required within 48 hours.
Communicate with families psychiatrist school staff and other stakeholders to ensure communication between all child and family team members for continuity of care. Refer to outside resources as needed.
Masters degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or related degree. Licensed as Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Counselor Independent. Three years post graduate professional social work experience. MSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners. LPC under South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors Marriage Family Therapists. Requires excellent communication skills attention to detail and ability to work independently. Demonstrates ability to collaborate in a positive professional manner with medical professionals. Requires ability to work in a thorough but efficient manner.
Additional Job Description
Education: Masters degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Credentials: MSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners. Certification in case management preferred.
