Salary Range: $81926- $100359. The maximum pay for this position is $118792.
Eagle County Governments Engineering Department seeks a dynamic Staff Surveyor to play a pivotal role in our countys development and stewardship.
This position involves a wide range of responsibilities primarily related to the review of subdivision plats land survey plats and ALTA Land Title Surveys. There are opportunities where this position may prepare stamp survey drawings as-builts and construction stakeout deliverables as well as creating design support surveys topographic maps. In addition to survey responsibilities this position may assist Engineering Staff with Right-of-Way Permit and/or Grading Permit review.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

What Youll Do (Your Impactful Contributions):
- Unearth crucial information from maps historical data and records. Conduct in-depth deed and land record research tracing titles and navigating BLM records local monuments and archives to resolve complex boundary questions.
- Review subdivision plats land survey plats and ALTA Surveys for accuracy and compliance. Analyze property boundaries for infrastructure projects. Compile survey computations process field data into topographic/design surveys and prepare/stamp official survey drawings and as-builts.
- Provide precise construction staking.
- Drive Projects Forward: Develop proposals for survey efforts and manage project budgets and schedules.
- Uphold Standards: Review Right-of-Way and Grading Permits ensuring development aligns with county regulations.
- Be a Valued Team & Community Member: Champion safety embody Eagle Countys mission and values and contribute to team success with other assigned duties.
What You Bring (Qualifications):
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience as a Licensed Professional Surveyor
Preferred Education:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in surveying and or an engineering degree program.
- Certified Federal Surveyor (CFedS)
Preferred Experience:
- Accomplished with Trimble field equipment preferred
- Experience with Trimble Business Center
- AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Licensure Certification or Registration:
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) Licensure
- Valid Drivers License and a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
