Job Description

The Facility Team Member reports directly to the facilitiesmanager and must maintain positive professional relationships with individualsserved families/guardians peers community partners and facility team member acts as a positive role model andmentor to agency staff by providing service standards of excellence in allbuilding repair and maintenance duties.

Schedule: Monday to Friday (8am to 4pm)

Essential Functions:


  • Ability tolift upto 50lbs. with frequent lifting and or carrying of 25lbs.
  • Perform sanitation procedures general repairs custodial tasks and manual tasks.
  • Operation and maintenance of heating/cooling systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and assess problems independent thinker and good time management skills.
  • Physical demands include Frequent standing pushing pulling walking stooping lifting and twisting.
    • Basic Electrical including smoke detector replacement light fixture and switch repair/replace breaker panel and coax knowledge fire panel knowledge plug repair/replace.
    • Basic Plumbing including toilet and faucet repair/replace water feeds repair/unclog drainsshower/tub repairs.
  • Landscape including yard cleanups plow and snow removal masonryof walkways driveway repairs use of machinery machine maintenance andoverall facility-based upkeep.
  • Carpentry including sheetrock repair/replace mud/patch paintingfinish carpentry ceiling repairs deck and ramp repair/knowledge.
  • Troubleshoot appliances.
  • Frequent driving of facility motor vehicles snowplow and vans.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of tools machinery and maintenance-relatedequipment and keep in good repair.
  • Functional and situational reasoning to follow policy completeadministrative tasks problem solve exercise sound judgment prioritizemultiple tasks and crisis manage.
  • Cross functional communication skills written and oral whichconvey clear and concise information in a professional and respectful manner toindividuals supported family members/guardians peers suppliers governmentagencies community partners and all employees throughout the organization.
  • Basic vehicle knowledge and troubleshooting monthly vehiclechecks and assists program/department staff in arranging vehicle servicing.
  • On call responsibilities as assigned.



Additional Responsibilities:


  • In conjunction with and as directed by the facilities managerevaluate building(s) condition/construction needs to prioritize immediate andfuture repairs.
  • Provides administrative support to facilities manager.
  • Actively advocates for individuals served and demonstrates agencymission and values in all interpersonal and professional relations.
  • Attends mandatory trainings and meetings as assigned and all required certifications.
  • Flexible work schedule required to address unexpected emergencydiverse and dynamic needs of individuals and programs (facilities).
  • Conducts oneself professionally maintaining respect following regulations and agency policies and adhering toconfidentiality requirements in all assigned duties
  • Troubleshoot common computer printer and office equipmentoperational issues.
  • Receive authorization to purchase supplies materials andequipment.
  • Request schedule and respond with follow up to routineinspections and facility maintenance/repair issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications *A Valid driverslicense and acceptable CORI is required at all times during employment with TheArc of Opportunity.


  • High school diploma or GED is required and four years experiencein the building trades. Strong analytical communication and organizationalskills required.
