Job Title
CGI ArtistPosition Overview
CGI Artists create photoreal digitally- generated imagery. The role requires the seamless integration of these effects to make the viewer believe that what they are seeing is real. This role will also collaborate closely with the Lead CGI artist studio director and brand marketing in following up and validating their work.
Objectives:
Use the latest technology to produce computer-generated scenes and other digital asset
Create photo-realistic materials lighting and rendered images for various uses such as marketing and advertisements
Collaborate with colleagues superiors and members of the organization outside of your CGI team in order to improve designs
Increase the quality of room scene assets to be utilized across the organization
Responsibilities:
Create and gather necessary material specific to project requirements and scope
Create both high-poly and optimized low-poly models
Create proper UV unwraps of mesh models
Assist in creating and maintaining assets for our CGI texture library such as:
Create shaders and textures based on physical samples scans or photography
Assemble and test shaders using new material scans provided by vendor(s)
Place textures maps in the appropriate folder link the maps to a Vray shader and enter tiling information
Create test renders of scanned materials onto shader balls or template models
Assist with 3D scene setup in Autodesk 3dsMax for rendering tests:
Collect necessary 3D assets shaders and textures into a scene file
Provide technical quality reviews for 3D models and assets provided by vendors
Track and report progress on a daily basis
REQUIREMENTS:
1-3 years experience in 3D modeling and rendering
Associate or Bachelors degree in Art with a background in 3D/CGI
Architectural or product visualization is a plus
Standard software experience : Blender 3ds Max Maya
Additional software experience: Adobe CC (Photoshop)
