Job Description: Architectural Principal - Hospitality Division
Position Overview: A nearly 50-year-old architectural/engineering firm is discreetly seeking an experienced Architectural Principal to manage the Hospitality Division at our Lawrenceville GA office. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated possess a high level of technical skill and excel at multi-tasking. The role involves managing an architectural/engineering office environment with cross-coordination between various internal disciplines (Architectural MEP Interior Design Civil etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop hospitality client relations.
- Develop and negotiate contract proposals.
- Solicit assemble and validate design team fees including outside consultants.
- Organize construction document kickoff meetings and provide project deadlines.
- Conduct quality control milestone reviews.
- Act as primary liaison between owners/code officials and staff.
- Lead specification development for both administrative and technical sections.
- Organize approval processes from AHJ and franchise; submit building permit applications.
- Manage project pre-construction meetings and monitor information flow during construction administration.
- Handle change order requests and make initial decisions on time and money requests.
- Represent the company in defense of construction-related problems.
- Define and monitor project substantial completion.
- Manage defense of all error & omission claims.
- Review employee timesheets and address personnel issues rewarding or penalizing as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Architecture Member of AIA NCARB LEED AP.
- Capable of registration in all 50 states and outlying territories.
- Minimum of 20 years experience with at least 15 years focused on hospitality design.
- Knowledgeable in all phases and aspects of hospitality design.
- Established connections with upper-level hospitality franchise personnel (Hilton Marriott IHG etc.).
Skills:
- Proficient with AutoCAD SketchUp and Bluebeam.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and familiar with Revit.
- Capable of heavy multi-tasking with excellent communication skills.
- Able to develop building concept designs including programming and analysis floor plans exterior elevations SketchUp models and site plans.
- Competent in assessing project development constraints such as zoning survey geotechnical conditions building codes and franchise requirements.
- Adept at maintaining project schedules and delivering on time.
- Experienced in identifying and resolving complex design and construction issues.
- Skilled in addressing conflicts and disputes directly and effectively.
