Job Description

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Teaches masonry skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to be an economic asset to the students in the selection and performance of appropriate activities. Instructs students in citizenship basic communication skills and other general elements of the competency-based course of study common to all teachers as specified in state law administrative regulations and procedures of the school district. Develops lesson plans maintains plan book and organizes class time so that preparation instruction shop work and clean-up activities can be accomplished within the allotted time. Demonstrates occupational materials equipment tools and processes using standard or teacher-prepared models mock-ups sketches and other instructional aids in accordance with the masonry competency-based task individual and group instruction appropriate to the needs of the student(s) and the requirements of the activities being performed. Instructs students in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools machinery and the storage maintenance and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse. Established and maintains standards of student conduct to provide an orderly safe and productive environment in an activity-type classroom with many potential hazards. Maintains contact with the business community. Must develop strong knowledge of and relationship with potential area employers in the field of masonry meet with company representatives periodically and develop cooperative education programs with area businesses. Communicates with employers parents and school counselors on individual student progress. Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health attitude and learning encouragement for continuation of formal education and assistance to students in securing employment on a full or part-time students in out-of-shop activities during the assigned working in curriculum and other developmental programs. Attends and works with the Masonry Program Advisory Committee in the development and implementation of the Masonry vocational technical education program. May share in the sponsorship of student activities and club activities. Participates in faculty activities. Evaluates each students performance knowledge and skills in the course being taught; prepares progress reports and student competency profiles. Selects ad requisitions books instructional aids equipment tools materials supplies and parts as required working under established budget and with students on our outside construction projects in our sending other duties as assigned by the REQUIREMENTS:This position requires long periods of standing on concrete floors bending and constant interaction with staff and students. The individual must be able to lift up to 50 OF EMPLOYMENT:Ten-month school year position (183 days). Initial salary will be established by the Superintendent-Director in accordance with the Teachers benefits as outlined in the Teachers :As per Teacher Contract
