The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our Robotics/Automation team.
The Senior Automation Engineer will:
- Creation modification and execution of comprehensive manufacturing and/or automation processes including process planning mechanical design process documentation gaging strategies tooling solutions and work holding design
- Definition of automation cell requirements creation of 3D concepts and completion of detailed designs (NX design experience preferred)
- Development of implementation of established and advanced manufacturing and automation process technologies
- CNC Program creation for milling and turning processes
- Troubleshooting and deep diving efforts related to manufacturing processes automation equipment CNC programs and manufacturing quality
- Collaboration with automation team members production design and materials engineering and quality team members for safe and on-time projects launches
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing with at least 3 years of relevant experience with machining processes (preferably in automated environments).
- Thorough understanding of detailed engineering drawings and specifications
- Advanced proficiency in the interpretation of GD&T requirements and inspection methodologies
- Experience specifying designing and/or launching automation processes including material handling assembly blending and welding
- Experience creating process related work instruction documentation
- CNC programming experience is required
- Mechanical design experience is preferred
- Fundamental understanding of machining work holding strategy cutting tool selection and gaging selection
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools
- AN Interest in gas turbine engine manufacturing
- U. S. Citizenship required
- Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
