St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School a faith-centered and academically strong community within the Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for grades 68. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of reading and writing create a dynamic classroom culture rooted in Catholic values and engage students in meaningful standards-based instruction.
Teach ELA curriculum to students in grades 68 including reading writing grammar vocabulary and literary analysis.
Plan and implement engaging differentiated lessons aligned with Archdiocesan and state standards.
Foster a classroom environment that supports academic growth mutual respect and a love for learning.
Establish a culture for learning by setting clear expectations and maintaining consistent classroom routines.
Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a positive respectful and productive learning environment.
Encourage spiritual development by integrating Catholic teachings and values into classroom practices and promoting a prayerful atmosphere.
Assess and monitor student progress regularly using both formative and summative assessments.
Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance attendance and communication.
Communicate effectively with students parents/guardians and colleagues regarding student growth and classroom activities.
Participate actively in faculty meetings professional development school events and faith formation activities.
Bachelors degree in Education or English; Masters degree preferred.
Current Missouri teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
Previous experience teaching middle school ELA preferred.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of forming students in faith and academics.
Completion of or willingness to complete Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment requirements.
