Summary:A balance operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a balance machine that measures the amount of imbalance in a rotating part and makes weight corrections until the part is balanced.
THIS POSITION IS DAY SHIFT. IT STARTS AT $25.00 PER HOUR WITH POTENTIAL TO START HIGHER WITH EXPERIENCE
Responsibilities:
- Rebuild and balance paper machine rolls to required specifications
- Look for improvements in process.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate basic computer knowledge to operate the balancing machine and fill out final reports.
- Demonstrate mathematical abilityrequired figure out the proper location and amount of weight to complete the balancing process.
- Proficient at reading blueprints
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Vocational School graduate in machine shop practices or equivalent is a plus.
Physical demands:
- Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Able to lift up to 70pounds at a time.
- Have manual dexterity in order to operate machines as directed.
- Have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Wear gloves and ear protection.
