Job Description

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Ames IA

Salary: $85000 $95000 per year

Job Type: Full-time On-site

Overview

Were hiring a Quality Engineer to lead process development and ensure high-quality efficient production operations. This role focuses on manufacturing process design optimization and the successful transition from design to production rather than product design.

What Youll Do

  • Develop and document robust cost-effective manufacturing processes
  • Lead pre-production validation: PFMEA control plans capability studies
  • Support tooling equipment and fixture readiness
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to launch new designs and meet ISO standards
  • Train operators and support internal audits

What Youll Need

  • Bachelors in Manufacturing Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
  • Background in ISO quality systems and ERP (Syteline a plus)
  • Strong communication analytical and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office CAD tools and Lean methodologies
  • Experience with industrial/heavy-duty products preferred
