Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Waterloo IA
Salary: $60000 $90000 (commensurate with experience)
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on innovation continuous improvement and process optimization. In this pivotal role you will lead the development and refinement of manufacturing processes that ensure high-quality cost-effective production from concept to launch. You will also play a key role in updating and enhancing existing products and systems to drive operational excellence.
Lead Process Development: Drive manufacturability assessments of new designs guiding them from concept through to first production runs.
Optimize Production: Design and implement efficient scalable manufacturing methods tooling fixtures and plant layouts.
Drive Improvements: Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.
Support Quality & Compliance: Collaborate on product testing standards quality assurance procedures and final inspection protocols.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with engineering purchasing and leadership teams on procurement scheduling and product lifecycle changes.
Report & Recommend: Generate data-driven reports and present recommendations to senior management on key projects and productivity metrics.
Mentor & Guide: Provide technical leadership to teams supporting manufacturing operations and project execution.
Education: Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Process or Mechanical Engineering preferred; Associate degree with strong experience considered.
Experience: 310 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing industrial or process engineering roles.
Process Knowledge: Strong background in BOMs routings time/motion studies and standard setting.
Systems Expertise: Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and production planning tools.
Quality Focus: Experience implementing QA programs and using precision instruments for calibration and sampling.
Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proven success with Lean Manufacturing Kaizen or Six Sigma methodologies.
