Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Waterloo IA
Salary: $60000 $90000 (commensurate with experience)

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on innovation continuous improvement and process optimization. In this pivotal role you will lead the development and refinement of manufacturing processes that ensure high-quality cost-effective production from concept to launch. You will also play a key role in updating and enhancing existing products and systems to drive operational excellence.

What Youll Do

  • Lead Process Development: Drive manufacturability assessments of new designs guiding them from concept through to first production runs.

  • Optimize Production: Design and implement efficient scalable manufacturing methods tooling fixtures and plant layouts.

  • Drive Improvements: Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.

  • Support Quality & Compliance: Collaborate on product testing standards quality assurance procedures and final inspection protocols.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with engineering purchasing and leadership teams on procurement scheduling and product lifecycle changes.

  • Report & Recommend: Generate data-driven reports and present recommendations to senior management on key projects and productivity metrics.

  • Mentor & Guide: Provide technical leadership to teams supporting manufacturing operations and project execution.

What You Bring

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Process or Mechanical Engineering preferred; Associate degree with strong experience considered.

  • Experience: 310 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing industrial or process engineering roles.

  • Process Knowledge: Strong background in BOMs routings time/motion studies and standard setting.

  • Systems Expertise: Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and production planning tools.

  • Quality Focus: Experience implementing QA programs and using precision instruments for calibration and sampling.

  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proven success with Lean Manufacturing Kaizen or Six Sigma methodologies.
